JULY / AUGUST 2007 Vol.11 Orange Issue
When we were a kid, paintbrush and drawing paper were once our best friends. We were joyful and creative. The world was simple. Yet as we grow up, we become part of this hectic world without these old friends.
In this fluorescing orange issue of RMM, we play the role of a gallery and interview five creative professionals: through drawing and sewing icons of pop culture, American artist Megan Whitmarsh makes people feel like part of a creative and happy world; Roz Streeten, designer from London, draws what she loved when was a child; Taiwanese illustration artist Yihsin Wu shows others his imagination of real world through his works; German painter Olaf Hajek creates a magic realism with his brushstrokes; the tension between the lines in the work of Japanese illustration artist Kosuke Ikeda reflects the artist’s view on reality.
These creative professionals introduce five very different worlds to us. We hope to bring sunshine to your bookshelf with this fluorescing orange issue of RMM.
